JOL WANTS POINTS

Fulham manager Martin Jol has revealed that he is determined to end the poor record that his team have at the start of the season. After a mediocre campaign last time around, Fulham were expected to kick on after the arrival of players like Darren Bent.

However, they have made a poor start to the season and are currently just above the relegation zone. They will be making the difficult trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday hoping to avoid yet another defeat. Fulham have not had a great record at Stamford Bridge over the years apart from a few results.

A draw would be a great result for the team, but Jol has said that he wants victory in order to get the team out of relegation fight. It will probably be a great time to play Chelsea, who are coming on the back of four matches without a win. They were recently defeated by Basel in the Champions league at home. They lost to the previous Premier league encounter 1-0 at the hands of Everton. Even though Fulham are likely to be without star striker Dimitar Berbatov, Jol expects his team to put a good fight. The midfielders Scott Parker and Steve Sidwell will be playing against their former club.

"I have to put it in the minds of my players that we had good results there. I don't know what that means to have good results in the away matches against them, but we still know the way we played against them, so maybe that will help. I can remember a few games - the penalty kick with Pajtim Kasami that we should have won, but that was for the cup. So we could have had a win," said the manager ahead of the match. Fulham have just one victory in the five matches so far.
